How We Got Our Start
Alan’s Carpets of Loughborough Ltd was founded 10 years ago with the aim of providing services mainly to the forest side of Loughborough. Over the years, a rapidly expanding customer base has been developing in and around the Loughborough area based upon providing quality and good customer care. Plans are currently being developed to expand geographically further afield.
During the early years as the business was growing, it became the vision of Alan’s Carpets to obtain a van (which occurred within the first 3-4 years) and to expand the business so that apprentices could be employed to learn the skills required for the business to grow and thrive.
10 Years later and the organisation has experienced a rapid and sustainable growth period that has allowed for a Mercedes Sprinter to be acquired to join the fleet that allows for loads of up to 5m width of carpets to be transported. Matt (who gained his City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 in flooring) joined the team and has been with us now for nearly 5 years. The newest addition to the team, Lewis, joined Alan’s Carpets in October of 2017 and is currently working towards completing his apprenticeship with only a few months left to go; Matt & Lewis have excelled at working well together and exhibiting the organisations values within their working practises. Both are well mannered and display the positive attributes of being hardworking, competent and loyal employees; I am very fortunate to have employed such a creative, dynamic team that can produce solutions to all carpet fitting needs.
Due to increasing new and repeat customer demand levels, it usually requires to arrange a consultation with us a few weeks in advance; it is therefore advisable to contact us at your earliest convenience to make an appointment for your free home carpet consultation. My wife Jan leads on the home consultation visits and is able to visit customers during the daytime and early evenings during weekdays.
I have had over 30 years’ experience in floorings and I also hold a City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 qualification in flooring that was awarded over 6 years ago now. This was due to a welcomed government initiative that recognised a growing need to have regulation within the flooring trade. The flooring trade has now been recognised as part of the regulated construction trade.
